The company, which owns the property outright, reported significant results from 25 drill holes totaling 9,940 metres. These results indicate that high-grade gold is intercepted along strike, at various depths, and within the predicted gold zone of the Monique deposit, extending from surface to a depth of approximately 450 metres.
Recent drill results have highlighted significant gold grades and widths, indicating continued expansion and continued occurrence of gold mineralization at the Monique Deposit. The discovery of identified gold trend areas at Monique allows for further exploration along strike and at greater depths.
Of the 25 drill holes, 20 were used for extension and infill drill holes to identify or confirm mineralization within the pit. The holes returned gold intercepts greater than 0.42 grams gold per tonne (g/t), exceeding the cutoff grade set in the current pit limited resource estimate. In particular, 17 of the holes returned gold intercepts with total grades and widths exceeding 10.0 g/t gold. In addition, five exploration holes drilled south of the proposed pit encountered parallel structures, with two of the holes returning lower-grade gold values.
Identified gold mineralization is primarily associated with deformation zones across the deposit. These areas are characterized by orientations of 280° to 300° and dips of 75° to 80° to the north. Gold deposits are defined by a network of veins and veinlets composed of quartz, carbonates, albite, and occasionally tourmaline and disseminated pyrite in the surrounding altered rocks.
Since 2016, Probe Gold has been aggressively expanding its land holdings in Quebec’s Val-d’Or East region, known for its mining potential. The company currently owns 600 square kilometers of county land and is one of the largest landowners in the Val-d’Or mining area. The Novaador project is part of these assets, covering 175 square kilometres, and includes three previously operating mines: the Beliveau mine, the Bussière mine and the Monique mine. The project fits three regional mining trends.
The Val-d’Or region is known for its political stability and low-cost mining operations and is home to several active mining companies and processing plants. Probe Gold reports that its assets in the region total gold resources of approximately 3.79 million ounces in the measured and indicated categories and approximately 1.42 million ounces in the inferred category, covering all trends and deposits in the region.
