Drilling of exploration targets based on promising geology and geophysics will cover 450 meters and two boreholes. The drilling program is a follow-up to Plato’s spring 2022 airborne magnetic survey using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The mines are located 11 kilometers east of Agnico Eagle’s Holt gold mine complex.
- Abitibi Greenstone Gold Mine Camp is located within the Abitibi Greenstone Belt
- Conveniently located off Highway 101
- Located 45 kilometers northeast of Kirkland Lake and 130 kilometers east of Timmins, this location has excellent infrastructure
The proposed drill holes were selected based on the geophysical and geological characteristics of the Abitibi gold deposit.
- Gravity, electromagnetic (EM) and magnetic field anomalies
- Porcupine Destor deformation zone parallel deformation zone
- NE-SW trend error
- The historic Harker Gold Mine and the Ellis Gold Mine are located in the same stratigraphic unit
Geophysical anomalies were used to determine the location of the drill collar. Magnetic high pressure, electromagnetic high pressure and gravitational high pressure are all related to the wellhead. Iron-rich tholeiitic lithological units are associated with high overall magnetic field strengths.
Gold and sulfide mineralization may also be associated with electromagnetic and magnetic anomalies. The historic Harker and Aires gold mines and planned drill holes share the same regional gravity signature.
The Marriott Hotel is located in the famous Abitibi Greenstone Belt gold mining area. The wellsite geology is located in the southern deformation zone, parallel to the Porcupine-Destor deformation zone on the northern boundary of the property.
The first vertical derivation of the 2022 UAV magnetic drone survey has revealed NE-SW trending transverse faults adjacent to planned boreholes. These faults can serve as conduits for gold-bearing fluids. Gold mineralization in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt is commonly associated with the Porcupine-Dest fault, expansion faults and transverse faults.
Planned drill holes are located in southwest trending stratigraphic units extending into the Howey-Cochenour-Williams Show (gold, copper, lead, zinc), Harker Gold Mine (gold, silver) and Iris Mine (gold, tungsten). extend. . This is indicated by the regional geophysical second derivative magnetic height. The planned drilling hole is located 14.7 kilometers southwest of the Haake Gold Mine.
New Strategic Metals worked with Silverhawk Resources Ltd from 1986 to 1988. Underground exploration of the Harker Gold Mine’s Shaft 1 area was completed by driving the ramp to a depth of 500 feet. From underground exploration, 10,500 tonnes at 0.051 oz Au/t and 6,000 tonnes at 0.115 oz Au/t were stored and subsequently processed at the Holt-McDermont Mine Mill (Ontario Mineral Inventory, MDI 32D05NW00159).
