
AngloGold plans to purchase 24,500,000 G2 Goldfields common shares.
G2 Goldfields, a renowned explorer in Guyana, is presently investigating the 17 kilometre Aremu-Oko trend. Since the 1870s gold rush, the area has been a rich alluvial goldfield.
Following its subscription, AngloGold will hold 11.7% of G2’s issued and outstanding shares.

AngloGold Ashanti CEO Alberto Calderon stated, “This strategic investment in G2 will provide us with a strong position in one of the world’s key gold provinces with significant potential for new discoveries.”

AngloGold will receive preemptive and other rights to use the exploratory properties because it thinks they have substantial growth potential.
