GABBS, NEVADA : P2 Gold Inc. (TSXV: PGLD) announced today the latest results from its ongoing infill and expansion drill program at the Lucky Strike Zone, part of the 100%-owned Gabbs Project in Nye County, Nevada. The highlight of the recent assays is drill hole GBR-099, which intersected significant gold-copper mineralization, further confirming the presence of a higher-grade core within the deposit’s western half.
Hole GBR-099 returned an intercept of 1.32 g/t gold and 0.38% copper over 30.48 meters, within a broader mineralized interval of 0.69 g/t gold and 0.25% copper over 74.68 meters. These results represent some of the highest-grade intercepts recorded at the Lucky Strike Zone to date, reinforcing the company’s geological model and providing momentum as the project advances toward an updated mineral resource estimate later this year.
The Gabbs Project is situated on the Walker-Lane Trend, a prolific geological structural belt known for hosting large-scale gold and silver deposits. P2 Gold’s recent focus on the Lucky Strike Zone aims to delineate the extent of an alkaline gold-copper porphyry system that appears to mirror the characteristics of the adjacent Sullivan Zone.
Technical Breakdown: Lucky Strike Performance
The Lucky Strike Zone has increasingly become the focal point of P2 Gold’s 11,500-meter reverse circulation (RC) program. The zone is currently defined over an area of approximately 700 by 500 meters, a footprint comparable to the Sullivan Zone. However, unlike earlier interpretations, the 2026 drilling campaign indicates that Lucky Strike remains open in all directions, suggesting the potential for a significantly larger mineralized system than previously estimated.
The mineralization at Lucky Strike is typically hosted within sills associated with the porphyry system. Geological logging reveals that mineralization is localized within and below a tabular unit of quartz monzonite, which sits atop a pyroxenite basement. In the upper portions of the deposit, the mineralization is predominantly gold-dominant. As drilling moves into the footwall, the ratio shifts toward a copper-gold profile.

In hole GBR-099, the high-grade core was encountered at a depth consistent with the project’s mineral resource model. The intercept of 1.32 g/t gold is notably higher than the average resource grade, suggesting that the western half of the Lucky Strike Zone contains localized zones of enrichment that could improve the overall economics of the project.
Other recent results from the program support this trend. Hole GBR-103 previously returned 0.90 g/t gold and 0.34% copper over 48.77 meters, including a high-grade section of 1.61 g/t gold and 0.49% copper over 21.34 meters. Collectively, these holes are defining a continuous high-grade corridor that remains open for expansion to the north and south.
Comparative Scale: Gabbs in the Nevada Landscape
According to the 2025 Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA), the Gabbs Project is positioned to become a major contributor to Nevada’s mineral output. At base case commodity prices, the project is projected to produce an average of 109,000 ounces of gold and 33 million pounds of copper annually.
These production targets would rank Gabbs as the fourth-largest gold producer and the third-largest copper producer in the state. This scale is particularly significant given Nevada’s reputation as a top-tier mining jurisdiction. The state’s infrastructure and regulatory framework provide a stable environment for junior miners like P2 Gold to transition from exploration to development.
| Parameter | 2025 PEA Estimate (Base Case) |
|---|---|
| Annual Gold Production | 109,000 oz |
| Annual Copper Production | 33,000,000 lbs |
| Nevada Gold Ranking | 4th Largest |
| Nevada Copper Ranking | 3rd Largest |
| Mine Life | 14.2 Years |
The strategic importance of copper cannot be overstated in the current market. As global demand for electrification and renewable energy infrastructure continues to grow, the industry is facing a projected supply gap. The 2026 copper deficit has become a primary driver for investment in domestic U.S. projects that can provide a secure supply of critical minerals.

Management Commentary and Operational Strategy
“The results from Lucky Strike continue to exceed our expectations,” stated Joseph Ovsenek, CEO of P2 Gold. “Hole GBR-099 confirms that we are dealing with a robust, high-grade core that is geologically consistent with the Sullivan Zone but offers additional expansion potential. Our focus remains on completing the current RC program and converting these discoveries into a formal resource update.”
The operational strategy for the remainder of 2026 involves a two-pronged approach. First, the company will continue to step out from known mineralization at Lucky Strike to test the limits of the zone. Second, infill drilling will focus on increasing the confidence level of the resource from the “Inferred” to “Indicated” category.
The Gabbs Project benefits from significant historical data, though much of the earlier drilling was not systematically assayed for both gold and copper. By applying modern analytical techniques and a comprehensive geological model, P2 Gold is identifying value that was previously overlooked. This “brownfield” exploration approach minimizes risk while maximizing the potential for rapid resource growth.
Geological Context: The Walker-Lane Trend
The Walker-Lane Trend is a 500-mile-long structural corridor that runs through western Nevada into eastern California. Historically, it has been overshadowed by the Carlin Trend to the north, but it has gained renewed attention due to its diverse mineralization styles, including low-sulphidation epithermal deposits and alkaline porphyry systems.
At Gabbs, the four known mineralized zones: Sullivan, Lucky Strike, Gold Ledge, and Car Body: each exhibit unique characteristics. While Sullivan and Lucky Strike are porphyry-style, the Car Body zone is a low-sulphidation epithermal deposit. This variety suggests a complex and long-lived magmatic-hydrothermal system, which is often a hallmark of significant mineral districts.

Recent geophysical surveys, including a Natural Source Magneto-Telluric (NSMT) survey, have identified high-priority targets at depth. These targets could represent the porphyry “source” for the sills currently being drilled at the surface. If confirmed, a deep-seated porphyry discovery would transform the Gabbs Project from a series of open-pit targets into a world-class, multi-generational mineral asset.
Market Outlook and Upcoming Milestones
P2 Gold’s progress comes at a time when major producers are increasingly looking for copper-gold synergies. Companies like Hudbay Minerals have demonstrated the financial resilience that comes from a balanced portfolio of precious and base metals. For investors, P2 Gold offers exposure to both the gold bull market and the secular growth of copper.
The company has established a clear timeline for the coming months:
- Q2 2026: Completion of the 11,500-meter RC drill program at Lucky Strike.
- Q3 2026: Delivery of an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) incorporating all 2026 drill results.
- Q4 2026: Completion of a Feasibility Study, which will refine the capital costs and operational parameters for a potential mine.

As the drill rigs continue to turn in Nye County, the industry will be watching closely to see if Lucky Strike can eventually eclipse the Sullivan Zone in size and grade. Given the current results from GBR-099, the trajectory for the Gabbs Project remains upward.
