Inflection Resources has embarked on an ambitious venture to revolutionize mineral exploration by partnering with Fleet Space Technologies. The collaboration aims to leverage space technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to pinpoint copper-gold deposits across Australia’s Macquarie Arc, a region renowned for its rich mineral potential.
Advanced Technology Deployment
Fleet Space’s ExoSphere, an end-to-end mineral exploration solution, is at the heart of this initiative. ExoSphere’s real-time ambient noise tomography survey capabilities have already proven instrumental in Inflection Resources’ efforts. At the Duck Creek project in New South Wales, ExoSphere has successfully identified several new priority targets, marking a significant advancement in the company’s exploration activities.
Expanding the Exploration Horizon
Inflection Resources is preparing to deploy ExoSphere technology across a vast expanse of 1,818 km² within its tenement portfolio. The objective is to utilize Fleet Space’s advanced AI capabilities to generate a comprehensive copper prospectivity map of its projects throughout the Macquarie Arc. This strategic deployment aims to enhance the precision and efficiency of identifying viable copper-gold deposits.
Significant Discoveries and Future Drilling Plans
The geophysical surveys conducted by ExoSphere at Duck Creek have been pivotal in uncovering multiple high-priority drill targets. These targets, identified through sophisticated 3D models revealing low-velocity zones indicative of alteration patterns associated with alkalic copper-gold porphyry systems, and high-velocity features potentially representing intrusions, are set to be the focal point of exploration efforts in the coming months.
Strategic Partnership and Industry Impact
Following the announcement of these new targets, AngloGold Ashanti has upgraded the Duck Creek project from Phase I to Phase II under its exploration agreement with Inflection Resources. This upgrade signifies a major step forward, encompassing the drilling of the targets identified through ExoSphere’s geophysical surveys.
Fleet Space CEO and co-founder Flavia Tata Nardini highlighted the critical importance of this collaboration: “Without a major acceleration in copper discoveries, humanity’s transition to renewable energy and building the infrastructure necessary for the global AI industry are unachievable. We are proud to conduct the world’s largest mineral exploration survey with ambient noise tomography in support of Inflection Resources’ data-driven exploration of the Macquarie Arc with our end-to-end solution, ExoSphere, and deliver sustainable subsurface insights at scale with our next-generation AI capabilities.”
Inflection Resources’ collaboration with Fleet Space Technologies marks a transformative approach in the exploration of mineral resources. By harnessing the power of space technology and AI, the partnership is poised to unlock significant copper-gold deposits, propelling forward the sustainable development of essential minerals crucial for global technological and renewable energy advancements.
