EnergyX has announced the latest breakthrough in its range of sustainable energy and climate solutions. Founded in 2018 by Teague Egan, EnergyX is a direct lithium extraction (DLE) and refining technology provider that provides lithium customers with solutions that minimize capital and operating costs.
Robust DLE system for lithium production
In a newly released technical brochure, EnergyX describes how its comprehensive LiTASTM DLE platform combines multiple technologies, including adsorption (AX), solvent extraction (SX) and selective membranes (MX), while using electrodialysis (EDR) and selective Static bipolar electrodialysis (sBPED) is used to create a robust DLE system for lithium production. When used together, EnergyX’s patented technologies deliver greater efficiencies, including faster separation times and more concentrated and purified lithium solutions.

With the brine processing capabilities provided by DLE, previously unprofitable sources of lithium can now be activated. EnergyX recently announced a major investment from major Argentinian lithium producer POSCO, as well as several demonstration plants planned for North and South America.
