BRITISH COLUMBIA, Canada : Seabridge Gold (TSX: SEA) has reported a maiden mineral resource estimate for the Snip North prospect at its Iskut project in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle, outlining an inferred resource of 9.2 million ounces of gold, 28.3 million ounces of silver, and 923 million pounds of copper.
The estimate marks an early benchmark for one of the company’s key exploration targets in northwest British Columbia and adds scale to the broader Iskut portfolio. Seabridge said the Snip North system remains open for expansion.
Snip North is part of the company’s 100%-owned Iskut project, located in a district known for large porphyry and epithermal discoveries. The new estimate places the prospect among the larger undeveloped mineral inventories in the region on an inferred basis, although further drilling and technical work will be required to upgrade confidence levels and assess potential development pathways.
The company said the resource includes meaningful by-product silver and copper credits alongside its gold inventory, underscoring the polymetallic character of the system. That mix could become increasingly relevant as miners and investors focus on projects with exposure to both precious metals and energy-transition-linked base metals.
Seabridge did not present the estimate as a final boundary for the deposit. Instead, the company said the mineralized system remains open, pointing to potential upside from additional drilling at depth and along strike.
The update also adds momentum to exploration activity in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle, where companies have continued to test large-scale systems despite inflationary pressure, permitting scrutiny, and tighter capital markets. Resource growth in the district is being closely watched as producers and developers seek longer-life assets in stable jurisdictions.
For Seabridge, the maiden estimate provides an initial resource foundation at Snip North while broadening the optionality of the wider Iskut project. The next phase of work is expected to focus on follow-up drilling, refining geological interpretation, and evaluating how Snip North could fit into the company’s longer-term project pipeline.
